Mini Psych School – A Fourth Edition
This year, the Douglas Mental Health University Institute will educate those participating in the 4th edition of the Mini-Psych School about mental illness while helping them explore – and dispel – the myths surrounding mental illness that persist to this day. "In reality, people who suffer from mental illness are more likely to be the victims of violence than to be violent themselves," explained Joseph Rochford, PhD, who will supervise and lead this 4th edition. "Our team of Mini-Psych professors, made up of Douglas clinicians and researchers, will present the facts about mental illness through a diverse and renewed program."

Course 1: Top Ten List About Mental Illness
Course 2: How Blue is Blue? – Depression and Burnout
Course 3: The Ups and Downs of Bipolar Disorders
Course 4: The “Skinny” on Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa: What’s New about Eating Disorders?
Course 5: The Delusions about Schizophrenia and Psychosis
Course 6: You Can Go Home Again – The Recovery Movement
Courses are held, in English, every Tuesday from October 27 to December 1, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Douglas Hall at the Douglas Institute.
