Marc Touchette hospitalised
Municipal councillor and school commissioner
(AG) - Well-known islander Marc Touchette who is a municipal councillor and school commissioner was hospitalised last week following a malaise. His family and Verdun Borough did not want to disclose any information on why he was hospitalised. Mr. Touchette works actively in the community.
Mr. M. Touchette was the first school commissioner to represent the L'Île-des-Sœurs district and has held this job since 2003; he has been an island resident for almost 30 years. Father of two daughters, he is jointly responsible for the parents’ committee that helped promote the expansion of the Île-des-Sœurs elementary school.
Marc Touchette is also a Verdun Borough councillor and has been in this position since 2005 as representative of the Champlain–L'Île-des-Sœurs area under the leadership of the Montreal Union Party. He is presently president of the Commission on Public Security, vice president of Urban Planning, Housing and Community Development as well as a member of the Urban Advisory Committee and Follow-Up Committee for Strategic Planning for Verdun Borough. In the City of Montreal, he sits on the Commission for Transport, Infrastructure Management and the Environment. He also participates in the Commission for Public Security and Public Safety for the Agglomeration of Montreal.
