Henri-François Gautrin: Liberals have solid record
(PV) Following the unveiling of the Liberal Party platform last Saturday, outgoing Verdun MP and Liberal candidate for the December 8 elections, Henri-François Gautrin said he believed that his party’s platform makes the most sense for ensuring the prosperity of the riding in the metropolitan region and across Quebec.
The outgoing MP made a point of highlighting the major investments made in the riding such as the expansion of the L’Île-des-Soeurs elementary school, the sums invested to expand the emergency facilities of Verdun Hospital, and on a province-wide basis, the introduction of paternal leave and tax credits for daycare expenses. “These investments allowed us to support families and improve the quality of life of our residents”, he stated.
With respect to family support, the outgoing MP reiterated the creation, in 2006, of the Quebec provision for parental leave and its important contribution to the Verdun riding. He confirmed that since January 1, 2006, more than $14.6 million were provided to support more than 1,300 local families.
