Arthur-Therrien and Elgar Pools Will Remain Open
The pools at Arthur-Therrien park and Elgar park will remain open until Sunday, August 24, weather permitting. Borough Council has decided to keep these two pools open one week longer, so that residents can enjoy the water on any warm weather days left during the latter part of August. As it may be recalled, the Borough's other two outdoor pools—at the Natatorium and at De la Fontaine park—will close, as scheduled, on Sunday, August 17.
"We want our residents, and particularly our youngsters and families, to have access to swimming time during the last week of vacation, before school starts," pointed out Claude Trudel, Verdun Borough Mayor. Since our seasonal staff is more limited in number at the end of the summer, we have reorganized our staff so that we can keep two of our four outdoor pools open, for one more week," added Mr. Trudel.
Please note that Arthur-Therrien and Elgar pools will be open 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., as usual, during the week of August 18, weather permitting. Moreover, until Sunday, August 17, the Borough's four outdoor pools will be open according to the same schedule. For residents who don't have a season pass, admission to the pools is $2 for adults and $1 for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 17.
