BEURLING ACADEMY
Get ready as the Annual end of year music concert under the direction of Gary Lindner will be taking place at the auditorium next Monday, June 2nd and as mentioned in our special feature last week, it will be a special night for some students as they step on a BA stage for the last time. The show gets underway at 7 pm with tix at $5.00 and get ready for a special theme from the seniors. Am I hearing some tunes from the Fab Four? This concert is always a must event to get that summer season off to a happy start.
The outdoor track championships were held last week and unfortunately, BA couldn’t match the success of two titles of last year, but we would like to acknowledge the two medal winners with Susan Young the only multi-medal winner winning silver in discus and a bonze in triple jump. Bantam Treyvon Grant picked up silver in the 100m dash.
Once again, we feel compelled to recognize former student Shauna Agard, now of LCCHS, who, like the indoor track finals, turned in another sparkling performance by picking five gold medals.
Kudos go out to all those who raised money for the Cure Foundation in the recent Denim Day in the amount of $621.12, with this money going towards the search for a cure into breast cancer.
