Daniel Beaudin is ready for electoral campaign
Conservative Candidate for Jeanne-Le Ber riding
A good number of people (this writer included) had predicted that federal elections would be held in the beginning of 2008. The weaknesses of Stéphane Dion’s team decided otherwise, but whatever happens, Conservative candidate Daniel Beaudin says he’s ready for the electoral campaign.
During his investiture in the Fall of 2007, he noticed that people of different political allegiances had joined the ranks of the Conservative Party and came to support him. To him, that was indeed a very pleasant surprise and was delighted about the turnout. Mr. Beaudin attributes this show of confidence to the courteous and friendly exchanges he always maintained with the people involved in different organisations in the riding of Jeanne-Le Ber.
He continues to meet with representatives of social clubs and associations in order to find out what his people need and particularly to assure them of his support if he is elected. This was how he learned that the Griffintown project would benefit the people in this district. He believes that the project will create a major impact in the socio-economic level and that it will influence other issues. He cites, among others, the advantages of Lachine Canal and its infrastructures; the same applies to the road network and public transportation. Mr. Beaudin believes that the developers are aware of the arguments presented to them and that they will take these arguments into account when they finalise the project. It is no surprise to him that the polls are indicating that a significant number of residents are in favour of the project.
One issue that he closely monitors is that of street gangs. This epidemic is not as widespread in Verdun Borough but it does affect several other areas of the riding he intends to represent in the next election. It’s a problem that worries a lot of people and therefore deserves much attention. Among the solutions he is recommending is to promote prevention as well as to organise activities that the youth will find attractive. He intends to have his recommendations presented as a resolution and to have it adopted by different segments of the Conservative Party.
Speaking of his Party Leader, Stephen Harper, Daniel Beaudin states that he has a solid political strategy and that the public appreciates him because he delivers on his promises. He confirms that Mr. Harper is a man who respects the commitments of the Canadian government and this explains why our country’s support for NATO should be maintained by way of sending troops to Afghanistan.
As he closely monitors all developments in his riding, Daniel Beaudin is systematically preparing for the elections which will be held at the latest in the Fall of 2009. The Conservative Party now has close to 300 members in the riding and efforts are ongoing to recruit some more. A benefit cocktail is being prepared to raise funds for the next campaign and another popular activity is in the pipeline which should take place in a few months.
