Verdun Borough expresses confidence in being able to once again welcome Junior Hockey to the Auditorium
Verdun Borough Mayor Claude Trudel hereby wishes to report on the progress of hopefully once again welcoming a team from the Québec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) to the Verdun Auditorium.
"Although an agreement in principle has been reached, negotiations are still under way in order to be able to conclude an official agreement and thereby be in a position to confirm the news, broadcast this week, by the Montréal media," stated Mayor Trudel.
It is premature, at this point in time, to speculate on the type of improvements or renovations that might be made to the present building in order to meet the requirements of the future tenants. These aspects are part of the discussions that are now taking place and in order not to say anything that would prove detrimental to these negotiations, Mayor Trudel is refusing to make any comments in this regard, until the final agreement has been signed.
Mayor Trudel nevertheless did mention that he would be pleased to welcome a high-calibre hockey team to the Verdun Auditorium, a temple of amateur hockey. "Verdun has always been considered a home of exceptional hockey and we hope hockey fans will have a chance to relive wonderful moments of this sport," added the Mayor.
