Letter from Bob Dubois
EDITORIAL: The statements made by the Board Chairman during the last council meeting should raise concern. Teachers, like any other worker, have every right to work in some sort of peaceful climate, without having to look over their shoulder. Students wanting to learn, also have a right to an education without the sideshow of the insensitive ramblings of some troubled teenagers who have a beef with certain members of society.

The students, currently in school are a source of distraction for that particular school’s community. The teachers who are the targets of these students must face the same students everyday. Surely, questions would also be raised, if the students were to get low marks in exams, there would then be the perception made by others that the teachers low marked exams or tests.

It would seem the School Board like others have just become another victim of technology. Nobody disagrees with the fact that the Board can’t supervise every teen’s computer in every home. They do, however, have the authority to send a clear message to those who wish to inflict pain and anguish, that their actions will not be tolerated. This writer supports the union demands that those students who are the ringleaders of these deplorable actions be transferred to other schools. It is the only smart thing to do.

THE ABOVE EDITORIAL IS STRICTLY THE OPINION OF THIS WRITER AND NOT OF THIS PAPER.
