Verdun School News
Verdun Elementary
(BD) - The message was clear at the recent 1st Annual Senior Musical, “Assignment: Earth” held at Beurling Academy in front of hundreds of parents and friends. The students from Cycles 2 and 3, drove home the message that the time is now to save the planet and telling us how to do it in song and music.
On the fifth number, “Drivin Miss Lazy” we were told to drive less, and more walking and biking, and teacher David Arless got the hint as he drove onstage with his new tricycle.
On the finale, the students sang an inspiring song called, “We are Able” and gave us the challenge to recycle and use less energy. Kudos to all those who put the show together.
Lastly, there will be special visitors at the school this Thursday, as the World Harmony Run, organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, will be dropping by. They are the volunteer marathon runners running around the world to promote peace and harmony to the world. They will visit Verdun E. at 8 a.m., where there will be a mini assembly in the school yard to welcome them, students will sing, then they will start running with our students (3-6 grades around the school and PK, K, 1 & 2 grades inside the school yard), then go off at 8:30 to visit other schools in our School Board, hoping to arrive at the LBP School Board head office at noon. HAVE A GREAT WEEK.
