The Volunteer Auxiliary of the Douglas Hospital urgently needs responsible members of our community to assist a team of dedicated volunteers in a Snack Bar available to staff and patients. We need volunteers to assist any day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to share and respect the members of your community. In return we offer a dynamic and supportive environment, and an opportunity to share of yourselves in providing an enhanced "Quality of Life" to those suffering from Mental Illness. For more information, please call Paul at (514) 761-6131, ext. 2256.
Moving Ahead
If you are a compassionate, sincere person who could give one or more hours a week towards improving the quality of someone's life, the "Moving Ahead" program of the Douglas Hospital would welcome you. A few individuals who have a mental illness and who reside in our foster homes in Verdun would greatly benefit from the regular visit of a friend to help them break their isolation. They are shy and gentle individuals. You don't need any experience. For more information without obligation, call Stella at the Volunteer Department, at 514-761-6131, ext. 4106.
