Verdun E. students get award
It was the Second Annual Quebec Entrepreneur Contest for the Student Entrepreneurship Category for the South-West Region of Montreal and Verdun Elementary students did their school proud by getting a well-deserved award.
The students won second place in the cycle 2 category for the project, which is the upcoming senior musical, “Assignment: Earth” The students’ participation in the organization and creation of the project is what got the award.

The supervisor of the project, music teacher Miss Jennifer Hayden and Vice-Principal Gretta Govan were on hand with 8 students to represent the whole group.

During the presentation, student Kane Egan spoke to the crowd and spoke about the project and the various facets such as: decorating, and poster design. The play, which was the idea of a student in grade 3, will be held in mid-May at Beurling Academy. Congrats to all on a job well done, and get ready, Music Monday is coming
COUNCIL MEETING
Tomorrow night’s April council meeting is one that’s always well attended, as it is when the Board names its administrative appointments for the following school year. It is the evening where teachers find out if they have a new boss and when the parents will know who they have to deal when it comes to problems with their child. We will be on hand tomorrow night to see if there are changes, if any, to the local school scene.

Have a great trip.

Badminton, which was new to BA this year, produced one team in the playoffs, with the midget girls’ team in the doubles championship this past week, but, unfortunately came up short, but we’re proud of them for having reached that far and a special thanks to coaches Tamara Beach and Erin Dougherty-Hunter.
