Réal-Morel Nursing Home
There will be a fund raising Spaghetti dinner at the Réal-Morel nursing home, 3500 Wellington in Verdun (LaSalle metro station bus 58 or 61) organized by the resident's committee on the next Sunday April 29th from 11:am to 4:pm. Italian ambiance for the occasion, music and warm welcome. Price of the ticket: 8$ per adult and 3$ for children of 13 years old or less and free for children of 5 years old or less. National volunteer week
From April fifteenth to twenty-first, Canadian volunteers step into the spotlight as communities across the country celebrate National Volunteer Week. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the volunteers of Douglas Hospital for the work that they do helping out, giving back and having fun. Join Douglas Hospital in celebrating the efforts of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. All volunteers, and those interested in becoming a volunteer, are welcome to take a coffee and cake on Thursday April 19 from 11:00 am to 4 pm at Douglas Hospital, Perry Pavilion, Room E-1149.
Annual card party and military whist
St. Thomas More Women's Club will hold their Annual Card Party and Military Whist in the parish hall, 978 Moffat Ave (corner of Moffat and Bannantyne Ave), Verdun, on Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at 12 noon. Choral Concert
St-Willibrord Church is hosting a choral concert by the group «Octet Plus» in commemoration of the first Mass celebrated in the present church. This concert features the theme «Life Giving Water» and will take place Monday October 23 rd at 7:30 pm in the Church, 325 Willibrord Avenue. Battle of Ypres Service and Parade - Sunday, April 29/07 - A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Cenotaph in Parc du Souvenir in front of Verdun City Hall. This year we will be joined by Colour parties from other branches, the Black Watch Pipes & Drums, their association, Cadet Corps, Quebec Provincial Command, District # 7 Command & dignataries from all levels of Government. Come & remember who those have given their lives to protect our liberty through all the wars on this day at the Battle of Ypres.
