VERDUN SCHOOL NEWS
By popular demand, we’ve obtained more movie passes, from the Easter bunny who’s in a generous mood these days, for that enchanting family picture “Firehouse Dog” which opened in theatres this past Wednesday. We have three family 4-packs to award to three lucky winners, and these passes can be used for any Cineplex theatre from Monday to Thursday. For your chance to win, call the movie hotline at 766-8232 on Monday, April 9th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. As usual, winners must be over 18, and will be announced next week.
VERDUN ELEMENTARY
Special visitors will be at the school this Friday from out-of-town. The senior jazz band and choir from Carleton North High School in New Brunswick, which just happens to be Miss Jennifer Hayden’s alma mater, will be dropping by the school on their mini Montreal-Ottawa tour. They will be doing a workshop in the morning with the VE band and then joining them for lunch. In the afternoon, they will be having a concert for the school, and get ready! Music Monday is coming soon. Stay tuned for more details.
BEURLING ACADEMY
Verdun School News would like to extend a special welcome to about 20 students and teachers from Kerrobert Composite School in Saskatchewan as part of that student exchange, in which BA students traveled to Kerrobert last month.

Last night, the Kerrobert students were picked up at the airport by their twinned hosts and brought to the school for a welcome pot luck lunch and got to find out what they will be doing for the week, which will be complete.

The students will be taking in various tourist sights such as the Oratory, the Biodome, Old Montreal, a Chinatown supper, and a day visit to Quebec City. On Wednesday, the students will be sitting in the classrooms to experience life in a big city high school with an assembly in the auditorium. On Monday, they will be serving an Easter turkey dinner to members of the community at one of our local churches.
