Once again this year, residents of the Verdun Borough, owning the Accès Verdun card have the opportunity to purchase trees and bushes, available at very affordable prices, during the Comité d’embellissement Verdun’s annual sale, now in its ninth successful edition. The tree sale begins April 2 and ends April 20. Buyers may pick up their purchases on May 12, 8: 30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Municipal Greenhouses.
Weeping ash, “Brandy Wine” apple tree, Blue Wedegewood lilac, Boston ivy, honey-suckle dwarf and “Champlain” rosebush figure among the species available this year. Only 250 units are on sale, which means that residents shouldn’t wait too long before proceeding. Reservations and payments are made at Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux (4501, rue Bannantyne) and at Centre communautaire Elgar (260, Elgar). Maximum: 2 trees or bushes per address. Prices at the committee represent a 25 to 35% rebate from what one would normally pay at the commercial nursery. A very interesting offer indeed!
