Police operation at Beurling Academy
(PL) - Police officers from station 16 quickly responded to a call placed by a citizen about a possible prowler, being seen with a shotgun, near Beurling Academy.
At around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24 about a dozen police officers swarmed Beurling Academy on Champlain Blvd and asked all students and teachers to stay in their classrooms and lock the doors. It was suspected that the individual might be in the school. After a two-hour search, police officers called off the search.
The sad events at Dawson College have made everyone a little more vigilant and one can never be too careful. It appears that someone witnessed a suspicious-looking individual near the school, carrying what was deemed a firearm, but that was not the case in the end. However, agent Nathalie Grenier told us that they take all such calls very seriously.
