A triumphant victory for Verdun Islanders!

The Verdun Minor Soccer Association is extremely proud of the U14 Verdun Islanders. This group of 13 and 14 year-old boys played in the Kids International Cup tournament throughout September and were challenged at every step. A tough quarter final game against LaSalle that went into overtime and then into penalty shots to advance to an even more stressful semi-final game against Ile Bizard. The final game, played against a team from Vaudreuil-Dorion, was tense with plenty of action from both teams. At the end of regulation time, the score was tied 0-0. Both teams were given a well deserved 5 minute rest period before advancing into sudden death overtime. With spectators nervously looking on, they watched as Verdun was able to put the ball past the goalkeeper for a triumphant victory!
