Riverview to host QFHSA fall conference
Riverview School, celebrating 80 years of providing English education, and having been chosen to host the Fall Conference of the Quebec Federation of Home and Schools Association with much of the legwork needed to get it here provided by local H. and S. member Harold Spanier, is just about set to welcome around 125 delegates from across the province for this prestigious school event, which goes from 8 a.m. to around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th.
Various experts in their fields will be speaking on a variety of issues of importance in today’s world of education. In the morning, such subjects as: How to survive Homework, Talking to your kids about the birds and the bees, and the importance of the arts in a child’s overall education, are on the agenda.
In the afternoon, the hidden treasure of English children’s books made in Quebec will be talked about including a book display, and a very important topic about your daughter having the HPV vaccine which is coming to Quebec schools, and one of Canada’s leading epidemiologists will discuss the pros and cons associated with this school vaccine program and its impact on women’s health.
Lunch will be provided by the Federation and there will be a chance to visit displays set up by companies that offer fundraising activities and workshops. This is a must conference to attend for those who are interested and have concerns facing today’s English language education system and topical issues facing their children and their families. Cost of the registration is $25.00 for H. and S. members and $35.00 for non-members or members of the public.
