Renovations under way Ventilation Station
Claude Trudel, Verdun Borough Mayor and Chairman of the STM's Board of Directors, has announced that the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will be carrying out renovations at the ventilation station located behind 313 rue Rielle, between De l’Église and Verdun metro entrances. This work, which comes within the Réno-Stations program, began on August 18 and is scheduled for completion by October 23.
Mr. Trudel pointed out that "We must carry out these renovations on Montréal's metro system if we want to continue providing transit users with quality service."
He explained that the STM will try and keep the impact of the work to a minimum for both transit users and residents in the area. Some phases of the work will cause noise, however, and particularly when the compressor and the cement-mixing truck are involved. This work will mainly be done between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., over a 4-6-week period. In addition, the fence behind 313 rue Rielle will have to be moved in order to increase safety at the worksite.
Steps have already been undertaken to inform the residents in the area affected by this work, and particularly those living in the building located at 313 rue Rielle.
Anyone interested in obtaining further information on these renovations may contact the STM directly, at 514 786-4636 (514 STM-INFO).
