Annual Card Party et O.K.O.
St. Thomas More Women’s Club will be holding their annual card party & O.K.O. in the parrish hall, 978 Moffat Ave, on Wednesday, April 16th, at 12 noon. Admission is $5.00 per person and refreshments will be served at noon. Please, bring your own cards. An early bird prize will be drawn at 12:30 sharp. Men are most welcome.
South West Mission
South West Mission (United Church of Canada) are holding a spring rummage sale from April 21 to May 2 – Monday to Friday – 10:00 am– 3:00 pm. The Misson is located in the Verdun Elementary school, Melrose and Verdun ave. Entrance – Clothes for everyone – white elephant and tea room. Please come and see us!
St. Clement's Church
St. Clement's Church will be holding their Tartan Day Lunch on Sunday, April 6th at 12:30 p.m. in the Norman Morris Hall. Tartan Day is celebrated annually in Quebec on April 6th to honour the contributions of the Scots to economic, social and cultural development of Quebec. The lunch will include Beef Steak Pie, vegetables, dessert and tea or coffee. There will also be performances by members of the Montreal Highland Association and 306 Pipes and Drums.Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased by calling 514-366-6120 or 514-769-5373. Free French courses for immigrants
The Carrefour interculturel de Verdun, in collaboration with the ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles, offers free French courses for immigrants living in Canada for less than 5 years. Registrations are by appointment only and the spring session starts on April 7 and ends on June 18 (daytime and evening schedule). Possibility of a financial aid for daycare. Every Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., you are invited to practice your spoken French with a group of open-minded and curious women at the Centre des femmes de Verdun (Verdun women’s center). St. Clement's Belcher Memorial Anglican Church will be hosting a Tartan Day Lunch on Sunday, April 6th, at 12:00 pm in the Norman Morris Parish Hall. The cost of tickets are $10.
