Once again this year, the
Comité d’embellissement Verdun and the Verdun Borough are holding the Christmas decorations contest. Residents are invited to decorate their balcony, windows, front door, garden, and take part in this collective effort to beautify the Borough.
On the evening of December 10, members of the jury will be touring the Streets of the Borough searching for six winners. The following elements will be guiding them : originality, choice of material, harmony of the ensemble and colors, amount of decorative elements. A new criteria will be added this year : decorative elements respectful of the environment. For example, a moderate use of Christmas lights will consume less energy. Also, instead of choosing inflatable structures which also use up a lot of energy, why not think of other decoration ideas? The contest is an opportunity to be creative, imaginative, original, while remaining aware of what is good and healthy for the environment.
Contest entrants do not need to register. Just keep in mind that your Christmas decorations must be ready for the visit of the judges on December 10. For more information on the activities featured at the Beautification committee, call at 514-765-7150 or log onto
