Fire Hydrant Drawing Contest

In cooperation with the Borough of Verdun, the Comité d’embellissement Verdun invites youngsters to participate in its autumn project: the fire hydrant drawing contest, now in its third edition. 3-to-16-year-old participants are asked to imagine and draw a unique, original, surprising or thematic fire hydrant, using the outline printed on the contest entry form. One winner will be selected in each of the three age categories (3-to-6-year-olds, 7-9-year-olds and 10-16-year-olds). Some time in 2008, the selected drawings will be reproduced on an actual fire hydrant in the Borough of Verdun!

The deadline is November 2. Complete regulations and registration forms are available at Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux (4501, rue Bannantyne) and Centre communautaire Elgar (260, rue Elgar). They can also be obtained on the beautification committee’s Website : www.comite-embellissement.info.

The committee’s fire hydrant contest is a very creative project. By thinking of a design, our young participants will add their colors and originality to our environment. It is quite easy to imagine how proud our three winners will be when seeing what they had imagined painted on a real fire hydrant. Best of luck to all our participants.
