La Ronde Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary
Created for Expo 67, the Montreal World Fair in 1967, La Ronde amusement park is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
La Ronde's Management intends to highlight this anniversary. It has therefore invited, in turn, some forty municipalities to come and celebrate this event with them, and Ville de Montréal will have the privilege of opening the 2007 season to commemorate this special occasion.
The opening weekend will focus on Montréal. Various activities and shows have been planned for that weekend. On May 19, at 10:30 a.m., an official ceremony to launch the 40th anniversary celebrations has been scheduled, to be attended by elected municipal officials. This ceremony will be followed, at 11 a.m., by a parade of performers from the various boroughs: dancers, majorettes, musical groups, etc. These performers will then freely perform on site for the visitors' enjoyment. At 6 p.m., the Jeunesse d'aujourd'hui show will present a nostalgia show on the sixties.
As Verdun is a participating borough, a special rate (25% discount offered by Montréal) is being offered to Verdunites, May 19-21.
One-day admission to La Ronde, tax included:
$31.91 instead of $42.16 for those who are 1.37 metres tall and over (or 54 inches and over)
$21.92 instead of $27.92 for those less than 1.37 metres tall (or less than 54 inches).
Please note: The prices and times mentioned are subject to change without notice.
To benefit from the discounts, residents must obtain their tickets at the Accès Verdun office or at Centre Elgar.
