Royal Canadian Legion
May 12/07 (Saturday) for Installation of Officers and Honours & Awards in the Main Hall - doors open at 7:00p.m. All newly officers will be sworn in at 8:00p.m. (during the Installation doors will be closed). Following Installation & the presentation of Honours & Awards there will be a dance with music by Maddie (No Limits). All are welcome - Come and wish our new executives well and enjoy the evening. Bus Trip
The Scottish Centre of Montreal are organizing a Bus Trip with Lunch Cruise to Thousand Islands on Saturday, June 16th, 2007. The bus will leave the Scottish Centre, 1610 Stephens St in Verdun at 8:00 a.m. The cost of the trip will be $75 which includes the bus trip and lunch cruise. Walk-Club at DAWSON Centre
Dawson Community Centre brings back the Walk-Club for adults 50 and up, Thursdays, from May 10 to September 13, Aal you need to pay is the membership card of $10 and metro fees. We take the metro to walk in beautiful parks on the island of Montreal. For the Spring session we also offer: Low-Impact Aerobics, Monday and Thursday morning, Line-Dancing intermediate-level on Tuesday mornings, the ‘’Verdun-Memories’’ oral-history program is ongoing until June, so are the recreational activities. Community Services are on-going: The Foot-Care Clinic (by appointment) and the transport service to the IGA for seniors with a light loss of mobility. Free Job Training Program
The LaSalle Adult Education Centre-Verdun Access-to-Work Pavilion located at 1050 Fifth Ave. in Verdun, offers a free Job Training Program for adults with or without Secondary V. Course includes career exploration, job search techniques, computer and stage in a company. This course is offered in English and French. For more information: (514) 765-8444.
Spring Sale at Douglas Hospital
Douglas Hospital Greenhouses are pleased to invite you to the Spring Sale that will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday May 16, 17, 18 , from 9h to 3h. They are located on the grounds of the Douglas Hospital, 6875, LaSalle Blvd, Verdun (back of the Psychiatric Emergency). At the sale, you will find annual and vegetable boxes, herbs, geraniums, and companion plants. All the profits will be used exclusively for the patients (materials for activities, outings, etc).
