Verdun Will Pick Up Your Natural Christmas Trees for Recycling

Once again this year, the Verdun Borough is continuing its natural Christmas tree recycling program to convert it to wood chips that will be used as mulch for landscaping next spring.

From late December to the end of January, you may place your Christmas trees on your property, along the edge of the sidewalk, at any time. Just make sure that you have first removed all the trimmings (including hooks and icicles). Make sure, as well, that they won't block the way for sidewalk snow plows or pedestrians. These trees will be picked up over the next few days by the Borough's public works crews.

Please take note that when snow clearance operations are under way, there are no Christmas tree pick-ups. Residents must therefore temporarily remove the trees from the edge of the sidewalk to make it easier for snow clearance crews to do their work. Once the snow clearance operations are over, the trees may be put back along the edge of the sidewalk, on your property, so that they can be picked up on one of the following days.

The Borough thanks you for your cooperation in the Christmas tree collection. By recycling it, you are contributing toward a better environment, by reducing the amount of garbage sent to landfill sites.
