These expenses, as suggested by the programme’s name, relate to major work covering infrastructure, purchase of vehicles, etc. The sums will be spent in the next three years and will be financed by the loan-by-law regulations. Among others, this loan document will enable government authorities to determine how much various municipal governments need to borrow in the next three years.
Out of the $11.4 million, more than $5 million will be spent in 2009. The most important sum ($996,000) will be allocated to re-surface pavements of various streets while $474,000.00 will be allotted to the reconstruction of sidewalks. An amount of $759,000 will also be spent to purchase new vehicles (trucks, road equipment, etc). An identical sum will be spent for re-developing Willibrord Park, located near Borough City Hall.
Among the expenses for 2009 in the three-year capital expenditure programme is $474,000 (without taxes) for the “maison intergénérationnelle” (literal translation: inter-generational house) in L'Île-des-Sœurs. It can therefore be said, from this document, that the Trudel administration hopes to accomplish this project in the next year.
