Yes, as we’ve been teasing for a while, we have some major entertainment for you to try and win. The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, is coming to town on Sunday, March 2nd and courtesy of the Bell Centre and we have a pair of tickets right next to the stage to give away, and we also have a pair of tickets as well to see “Les Canadiens” vs. the Philadelphia Flyers courtesy of the voice of the Habs, CJAD/800, Montreal’s News/Talk Radio on Saturday, Feb. 16th in the Club section, which includes all those wonderful concession goodies.

Sujets :
Habs , BA Yearbook Committee , The Big One

How can you win you ask. We’ve teamed up with the BA Yearbook Committee for another 5th anniversary raffle, and we’re calling it ‘The Big One’ with 2 big prizes for two winners, with the first name drawn getting their choice of which event to choose from. It could be a difficult choice for someone.

We will be on hand this coming Thursday at the school during parents’ night from 4 to 5 and from 7 to 9 and tix go from 1 for 2 dollars to your best buy at 30 for 10 dollars and all profits towards a color yearbook, a first for BA, so see you this Thursday. So the question is: Will it be the Boss or the Habs? We will soon find out!

BA Sports Update. All of the school’s basketball teams are winding down their season with a few games left. The Bantam girls division 1 team is at 1-7, the division 3 team is at 2-6, the juvenile boys’ team is at 2-8, but there is reason to cheer as the girls’ juvenile team now 6-3 with a 28-14 victory over Royal West last Monday, and the boys’ bantam team, now at 5 and 1, it would seem to be both playoff bound.

Riverview

The recent Open House was a smashing success with crowds of parents, both current and potential new parents next year jamming the downstairs lobby being welcomed by Mr. Victor’s music students and the good folks from Home and School and a chance for everybody to win a family 4 –pack for Disney on Ice in March.

The lucky winner was Carol Paradis of Beurling Avenue, who will be going to see the “Princess Classics” on March 9th courtesy of Verdun School News and the Bell Centre.

Also this coming Saturday evening, the Riverview CLC invites you to a wine, cheese, and jazz evening at the school with music provided by the Dave Turner Concordia Big band. Cost is $10.00 and you can buy your ticket at the office in advance and at the door, and this includes 3 drinks. This will be your chance in an informal, fun setting to get to talk to some of the people involved in the new CLC. So see you at the Wine and Cheese. Please note: this evening is for those aged 18 and over.
